Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus edged out Hungarian Dalma Galfi 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last 16 of the Catalonia Open on Tuesday afternoon.
Rus, ranked No 107, will face the winner of the match between Chinese Xinyu Wang, the No 4 seed, and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.
