Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska moved into the last 8 of the Catalonia Open by beating Anna Blinkova, the No 5 seed (6-4, 7-5) on Thursday.
Yastremska, ranked No 149, will face Swiss Jil Teichmann, the top seed, next.
In the previous round, the 22-year-old Ukrainian won against Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (7-6 (5), 6-3). Blinkova, ranked No 64, edged out Kamilla Rakhimova (6-2, 1-6, 6-4) in the 32.
