Chennai Open: Linette books spot in semi-finals

Pole Magda Linette, the No 3 seed, won against Canadian Rebecca Marino, the No 7 seed, 7-6 (10), 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the Chennai Open on Friday evening.
Linette, ranked No 67, will face the winner of the match between Katie Swan and Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino next.
The Pole defeated Japanese Moyuka Uchijima (6-4, 6-0) and Russian Oksana Selekhmeteva (6-2, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Marino, ranked No 90, won against Russian Anna Blinkova (7-5, 6-2) and Pole Katarzyna Kawa (7-5, 6-3).
