German Tatjana Maria, the No 4 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Chennai Open by winning against Indian wildcard Ankita Raina 6-0, 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

Maria, ranked No 84, will play Argentinian Nadia Podoroska next.
