Chinese Xinyu Wang won against Russian wildcard Vera Zvonareva 6-4, 6-3 to move into the second round of the China Open on Monday night.
Wang, ranked No 37, will play the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif and Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 11 seed, next.
