Cincinnati Open: Swiatek reaches the quarter-finals defeating Cirstea

Pole Iga Swiatek, the No 3 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open by beating Romanian Sorana Cirstea 6-4, 6-3 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Wednesday evening.
Swiatek, ranked No 3, will play the winner of the match between No 12 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova and No 28 seed Anna Kalinskaya next.
The Pole didn’t lose a set yet in Cincinnati. She benefited from the forfeit of Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk, the No 25 seed and won against Russian Anastasia Potapova (6-1, 6-4).
Cirstea, ranked No 138, defeated Chinese lucky loser Yue Yuan (6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-4), Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 22 seed (7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-4) and Croat Donna Vekic (6-1, 4-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
