Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina, the No 4 seed, edged out Dutchwoman Suzan Lamens 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the quarter-finals of the Cluj-Napoca Open at the BT Arena on Wednesday.
Kalinina, ranked No 49, will play the winner of the match between Canadian qualifier Marina Stakusic and Belarusian lucky loser Aliaksandra Sasnovich next.
The Ukrainian won against Romanian wildcard Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-2, 6-3) in the previous round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.
In the first round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament, Lamens, ranked No 67, beat Hungarian qualifier Anna Bondar (7-6 (2), 7-6 (6)).
