Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the top seed, reached the second round of the Cluj-Napoca Open by defeating Belgian Greet Minnen 7-5, 6-1 at the BTarena on Monday evening.
Rus, ranked No 45, will face the winner of the match between French qualifier Alize Cornet and Belgian Yanina Wickmayer next.
