American Louisa Chirico advanced to the last 16 of the Dow Tennis Classic by winning against Canadian Carol Zhao 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Tuesday.
Chirico, ranked No 186, will play Canadian Rebecca Marino, the No 6 seed, next.
