Dow Tennis Classic: Li into semi-finals

American Ann Li edged out Japanese Nao Hibino 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 to reach the semi-finals of the Dow Tennis Classic at Greater Midland Tennis Center on Friday evening.
Li, ranked No 147, will face the winner of the match between German Anna-Lena Friedsam and Colombian Camila Osorio, the No 5 seed, next.
The 22-year-old American won against Russian Varvara Gracheva, the No 6 seed (4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3) and edged out Pole Magdalena Frech (5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (5)) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Hibino, ranked No 144, beat Chinese Shuai Zhang, the top seed (6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3) and American Robin Anderson (7-6 (2), 6-3).
