American Madison Keys reached the last 16 of the Dubai Duty Free Championships by winning against Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia, the No 4 seed, 7-5, 6-4 at The Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Tuesday night.
Keys, ranked No 23, will play the winner of the match between American Amanda Anisimova and Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No 15 seed, next.
The American defeated Italian qualifier Jasmine Paolini (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
