Bektas ends run of lucky loser Vickery to reach last eight in Netherlands

Qualifier Emina Bektas won against lucky loser Sachia Vickery 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Dutch Open at the Autotron Rosmalen in’s-Hertogenbosch on Thursday.

Bektas, ranked No 186, will play the winner of the match between Australian Kimberly Birrell and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 4 seed, next.

Ahead of her victory, Emina Bektas defeated Hungarian Dalma Galfi (7-5, 7-6 (1)).

Vickery, ranked No 179, beat Australian lucky loser Priscilla Hon (6-3, 6-0) in the previous round of the Rosmalen tournament.
