Latvian Jelena Ostapenko won against wildcard Harriet Dart 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne International at Devonshire Park Lawn Club.
Ostapenko, ranked No 17, will face the winner of the match between Italian Camila Giorgi and Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the No 4 seed, next.
The Latvian beat Czech lucky loser Barbora Strycova (6-4, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Eastbourne tournament, Dart, ranked No 142, defeated Chinese Shuai Zhang (7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-1).
