Czech Petra Kvitova, the No 14 seed, edged out wildcard Katie Boulter 5-7, 6-0, 7-5 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Eastbourne International at Devonshire Park Lawn Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Kvitova, ranked No 31, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Harriet Dart and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk next.
