Eastbourne Open: Qualifier Eala reaches semi-finals
Alexandra Eala defeated Dayana Yastremska 6-1, 6-2 on Thursday and will play French qualifier Varvara Gracheva in the next round

Filipino qualifier Alexandra Eala beat Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska 6-1, 6-2 to move into the last four of the Eastbourne Open at the Devonshire Park Lawn Club on Thursday.
Eala, ranked No 74, will face French qualifier Varvara Gracheva next.
Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old Filipino won against Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-0, 6-1) and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 3 seed (0-6, 6-2, 3-2 ret.).
Yastremska, ranked No 42, benefited from the abandonment of Pole Magda Linette, the No 5 seed (6-4, 4-2) and defeated wildcard Francesca Jones (6-2, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Eastbourne tournament.
