Louisa Chirico beat Raluka Serban 6-2, 6-3 and will play the winner of the match between Renata Zarazua and Irene Burillo Escorihuela in the next round

American Louisa Chirico, the No 6 seed, won against Cypriot Raluka Serban 6-2, 6-3 to reach the last 8 of the Fifth Third Charleston 125 2 on Wednesday evening.
Chirico, ranked No 181, will face the winner of the match between Mexican Renata Zarazua, the top seed, and Spaniard Irene Burillo Escorihuela next.
The American edged out Romanian Irina Bara (3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (3)) in the previous round.
In the previous round, Serban, ranked No 210, beat Romanian qualifier Miriam Bulgaru (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).
