Australian Priscilla Hon won against Swiss qualifier Celine Naef 7-5, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Firenze Ladies Open on Thursday afternoon.
Hon, ranked No 164, will face Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Australian defeated Italian Lucrezia Stefanini (6-4, 6-2).
Naef, ranked No 209, beat American Katrina Scott (4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2) in the previous round.
