Argentinian Nadia Podoroska, the No 3 seed, reached the second round of the Florianopolis Open by winning against Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro 6-4, 6-1 on Tuesday.
Podoroska, ranked No 75, will face Slovenian Polona Hercog next.
