Florianopolis Open: Top-seeded Navarro upset by Sierra in first round

Argentinian Solana Sierra defeated American Emma Navarro, the top seed, 6-4, 7-6 (2) to move into the second round of the Florianopolis Open on Tuesday.

Sierra, ranked No 210, will face Romanian Miriam Bulgaru in the next round.
