Pole Magda Linette, the top seed, reached the last 16 of the Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open by winning against Jodie Burrage 6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-2 on Monday.
Linette, ranked No 27, will play the winner of the match between Australian Daria Saville and German Anna-Lena Friedsam next.
