Pole Magda Linette, the top seed, moved into the last 8 of the Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open by beating Australian Daria Saville 6-0, 7-6 on Wednesday night.
Linette, ranked No 27, will face the winner of the match between Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic and Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, next.
The Pole won against Jodie Burrage (6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-2) in the previous round.
In the 32, Saville, ranked No 264, defeated German Anna-Lena Friedsam (3-6, 6-3, 6-1).
