Spaniard Rebeka Masarova, the No 5 seed, reached the last 16 of the Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open by winning against Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl 7-5, 6-2 on Monday night.
Masarova, ranked No 64, will face the winner of the match between Canadian Rebecca Marino and Swiss qualifier Viktorija Golubic next.
