Belgian Greet Minnen, the No 7 seed, moved into the last four of the Galaxy Holding Group Guangzhou Open by defeating Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed, 6-7 (8), 6-4, 6-1 on Thursday night.
Minnen, ranked No 68, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Xiyu Wang and Slovak lucky loser Viktoria Hruncakova next.
The Belgian won against Frenchwoman Diane Parry (6-2, 6-2) and edged out qualifier Harriet Dart (7-6 (7), 6-7 (5), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Bronzetti, ranked No 60, beat qualifier Ya Yi Yang (6-1, 6-0) and Japanese qualifier Moyuka Uchijima (6-3, 6-3).
