Garcia reaches Bad Homburg semi-finals, beats Lisicki

Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia won against German wildcard Sabine Lisicki 6-3, 7-6 (7) to move into the last four of the Bad Homburg Open on Thursday.

Garcia, ranked No 75, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 9 seed, and German Angelique Kerber, the No 3 seed, next.

Earlier in the tournament, the Frenchwoman edged out Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) and defeated Russian qualifier Kamilla Rakhimova (6-3, 6-4).

Sabine Lisicki won against lucky loser Tamara Korpatsch (6-4, 7-6 (5)) and Belgian Greet Minnen (6-3, 2-6, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
