Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 4 seed, reached the last eight of the Grand Est Open by edging out Russian Erika Andreeva 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 at Tennis Club de Contrexéville in Contréxeville on Wednesday.
Rus, ranked No 86, will face German Eva Lys next.
The Dutchwoman won against American qualifier Elvina Kalieva (6-1, 6-3) in the previous round of the Contréxeville tournament.
In the 32 of the Contréxeville tournament, Andreeva, ranked No 149, beat Romanian Irina Bara (6-1, 6-0).
