Caroline Dolehide won against lucky loser Sachia Vickery 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 to reach the last 16 of the Guadalajara Open Akron on Tuesday night.
Dolehide, ranked No 111, will face Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Caroline Dolehide edged out Peyton Stearns (6-7 (1), 7-6 (5), 7-6 (2)).
Vickery, ranked No 175, benefited from the abandonment of Danielle Collins (7-6 (7)) in the previous round.
