Iasi Open: Begu edges past Zidansek to set up all Romanian final

Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the top seed, moved into the final of the Iasi Open by winning against Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 8 seed, 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 at Baza Sportivă Ciric.

Begu, ranked No 31, will play Romanian Ana Bogdan, the second seed, next.

Ahead of her victory, the Romanian defeated Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (7-6 (4), 6-1), Hungarian Reka Luca Jani (6-3, 6-1) and Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 6 seed (1-6, 6-4, 6-0).

Zidansek, ranked No 139, won against Russian qualifier Anastasia Tikhonova (6-4, 6-2), Romanian wildcard Andreea Prisacariu (6-2, 6-4) and Russian Darya Astakhova (6-3, 3-3 ret.) earlier in the tournament.
