Andreeva recovers from double break down to make third round at Indian Wells

Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 9 seed, advanced to the third round of the Indian Wells WTA 1000 by beating Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva 7-5, 6-4 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Friday.
Andreeva faced tough resistance from Gracheva throughout. The duo exchanged ten break points, with the Russian taking six in the hour-and-45-minute long battle.
The Frenchwoman notably secured a double break in the opening round to race to a 4-0 lead but Andreeva recovered by winning the following six games to prevail.
Andreeva, ranked No 11, will face Dane Clara Tauson, the No 22 seed, next.
Gracheva, ranked No 70, edged out wildcard Petra Kvitova (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
