Indian Wells: No 11 seed Kasatkina reaches third round

Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 11 seed, defeated Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin 6-3, 7-6 (5) to advance to the third round of the Indian Wells at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Saturday evening.

Kasatkina, ranked No 12, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the No 19 seed, and American Sloane Stephens next.

Dodin, ranked No 85, edged out Russian Elina Avanesyan (1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4)) in the previous round of the Indian Wells tournament.
