Italian Open: Kasatkina makes fourth round with win over Grabher

Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 8 seed, edged out Austrian Julia Grabher 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (2) to move into the fourth round of the Italian Open at the Foro Italico in Rome on Sunday.

Kasatkina, ranked No 9, will face the winner of the match between Czech Barbora Krejcikova, the No 10 seed, and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko, the No 20 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Rome tournament, the Russian won against Italian wildcard Lisa Pigato (6-1, 6-2).

Grabher, ranked No 89, beat Italian wildcard Nuria Brancaccio (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) and Swiss Jil Teichmann, the No 26 seed (7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Rome tournament.
