Italian Open: Kudermetova moves into quarter-finals

Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 11 seed, reached the quarter-finals of the Italian Open by winning against Czech Marie Bouzkova, the No 27 seed, 6-2, 6-2 at the Foro Italico in Rome on Monday.
Kudermetova, ranked No 12, will face No 22 seed Qinwen Zheng next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Russian beat Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz (7-5, 6-2) and No 23 seed Anastasia Potapova (7-5, 3-6, 6-1).
Bouzkova, ranked No 38, won against American Catherine McNally (6-4, 6-3) and American Coco Gauff, the No 6 seed (4-6, 6-2, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the Rome tournament.
