Top seed Jasmine Paolini reached the semi-finals of the Jasmin Open by beating No 6 seed Lucia Bronzetti 7-5, 7-6 (3) at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Friday.
Paolini, ranked No 30, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, the No 4 seed, and Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz next.
Jasmine Paolini won against Frenchwoman Alize Cornet (6-4, 6-2) and Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko (6-4, 3-6, 6-2) ahead of her victory. In the previous rounds of the Monastir tournament, Bronzetti, ranked No 62, defeated Slovak Kristina Kucova (6-1, 6-1) and Sara Errani (6-3, 6-4).
