Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet reached the last 16 of the Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships by beating Swiss Viktorija Golubic 6-4, 6-2 on Tuesday.
Ponchet, ranked No 140, will face American Ashlyn Krueger next.
