Korea Open: Tomova books spot in quarter-finals as Anisimova quits

Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova reached the quarter-finals of the Korea Open when American Amanda Anisimova retired at the Olympic Park Tennis Center in Seoul on Thursday.
Tomova, ranked No 54, led 7-5, 4-1 when Anisimova, ranked No 46, pulled out.
The Bulgarian will face Veronika Kudermetova next.
Viktoriya Tomova defeated German Tatjana Maria (6-2, 1-6, 6-0) in the previous round of the Seoul tournament.
In the first round of the Seoul tournament, the American won against Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 6 seed (6-3, 7-6 (5)).
