L & T Mumbai Open: Yamaguchi advances to last 16
Mei Yamaguchi benefited from the abandonment of Lina Glushko (6-3, 5-4) on Tuesday. She’ll face Swiss Simona Waltert in the next round
Japanese qualifier Mei Yamaguchi reached the last 16 of the L & T Mumbai Open when Israeli Lina Glushko retired on Tuesday.
Yamaguchi, ranked No 285, led 6-3, 5-4 when Glushko, ranked No 202, pulled out on Tuesday.
The Japanese will play Swiss Simona Waltert next.
