Hungarian Dalma Galfi advanced to the quarter-finals of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open when Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 7 seed, retired at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Thursday evening.
Galfi, ranked No 148, led 1-0 when Bassols Ribera, ranked No 107, pulled out at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Thursday evening.
The Hungarian will play qualifier Zeynep Sonmez next.
Dalma Galfi beat German Ella Seidel (7-6, 6-3) in the previous round. In the first round of the La Bisbal d’Emporda tournament, the Spaniard edged out Hungarian Timea Babos (4-6, 6-1, 7-5).
