Belgian Greet Minnen, the No 5 seed, defeated Linda Fruhvirtova 6-2, 6-1 to win the Lexus Birmingham Open trophy on Sunday evening.
Minnen, ranked No 77, beat Dutch lucky loser Arianne Hartono (6-4, 6-2), qualifier Tereza Martincova (3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3), Australian Kimberly Birrell, the second seed (6-3, 5-7, 6-3) and Swiss Rebeka Masarova (3-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5)) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Fruhvirtova, ranked No 152, defeated Filipino Alexandra Eala, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-1), wildcard Jodie Burrage (6-0, 6-4), Italian Lucrezia Stefanini (6-4, 6-3) and Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet (6-2, 0-6, 6-4).
