Belgian Elise Mertens, the No 3 seed, reached the last 16 of the Libéma Open by defeating Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova 6-4, 6-0 on Monday.
Mertens, ranked No 25, will play the winner of the match between Dutch wildcard Anouk Koevermans and Greek Maria Sakkari next.
