Fiona Ferro beat qualifier Emeline Dartron 6-4, 6-4 to move into the quarter-finals of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo on Thursday.
Ferro, ranked No 341, will play Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean next.
Fiona Ferro won against German lucky loser Noma Noha Akugue (4-6, 7-6 (9), 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Dartron, ranked No 323, defeated Chinese Sijia Wei (6-3, 7-6 (5)).
