Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 7 seed, reached the last four of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo by beating American McCartney Kessler, the top seed, 6-3, 7-5 on Friday.
Golubic, ranked No 92, will play the winner of the match between American Katie Volynets, the No 3 seed, and Slovenian Kaja Juvan next.
Ahead of her victory, the Swiss won against Frenchwoman Selena Janicijevic (7-6 (3), 7-5) and Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (3-6, 6-1, 6-3).
Kessler, ranked No 43, won against French qualifier Yara Bartashevich (6-4, 6-1) and French wildcard Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah (7-6 (6), 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
