American Varvara Lepchenko won against Australian Priscilla Hon 6-2, 6-3 to reach the last 16 of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo on Tuesday.
Lepchenko, ranked No 120, will face the winner of the match between American Katie Volynets, the No 3 seed, and Russian Anastasia Zakharova next.
