American McCartney Kessler, the top seed, reached the last 16 of the L’Open 35 de Saint Malo by winning against French qualifier Yara Bartashevich 6-4, 6-1 on Tuesday.
Kessler, ranked No 43, will play the winner of the match between qualifier Tessah Andrianjafitrimo and wildcard Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah next.
