LP Open by IND: Carle eases past Craciun to book spot in semi-finals

Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the second seed, moved into the semi-finals of the LP Open by IND by winning against Romanian lucky loser Georgia Andreea Craciun 6-3, 7-6 (3) on Friday night.
Carle, ranked No 94, will face Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 3 seed, next.
The Argentinian beat American Robin Anderson (6-2, 6-1) and Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean (1-6, 6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Craciun, ranked No 443, won against Brazilian Carolina M. Alves (6-3, 6-2) and Italian qualifier Nicole Fossa Huergo (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
