Mérida Open: Blinkova advances to second round
Anna Blinkova benefited from the abandonment of Lesia Tsurenko (2-6, 6-4, 4-0) on Wednesday and will face Russian Alina Korneeva in the next round

Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 5 seed, reached the second round of the Mérida Open when Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko retired on Wednesday at the Yucatan Country Club.
Blinkova, ranked No 75, led 2-6, 6-4, 4-0 when Tsurenko, ranked No 122, pulled out at the Yucatan Country Club on Wednesday.
The Russian will play Russian Alina Korneeva next.
