Mérida Open: Parrizas Diaz reaches second round

Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz beat Croat qualifier Ana Konjuh 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-2 to reach the second round of the Mérida Open at the Yucatan Country Club on Monday night.

Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 79, will play the winner of the match between Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 6 seed, and Italian Camila Giorgi next.
