Mexican Renata Zarazua, the top seed, moved into the second round of the Mérida Open by defeating American wildcard Akasha Urhobo 7-5, 6-2 at the Yucatan Country Club on Wednesday evening.
Zarazua, ranked No 62, will play Pole qualifier Maja Chwalinska next.
