Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 5 seed, won against Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet 6-3, 6-2 to reach the last 16 of the Mexico Series Puerto Vallarta 125 on Monday night.
Carle, ranked No 106, will play the winner of the match between American Catherine McNally and German Jule Niemeier next.
