Miami Open: Raducanu wins nine of 10 games before Kessler retires
Emma Raducanu raced into the fourth round of the Miami Open after McCartney Kessler retired injured at 6-1, 3-0 on Sunday

Emma Raducanu reached the last 16 of the Miami Open when American McCartney Kessler retired on Sunday at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Raducanu, ranked No 60, led 6-1, 3-0 when Kessler, ranked No 48, withdrew injured.
“It’s never a way that any athlete wants to win the match,” Raducanu said after the match. “I wish McCartney a speedy recovery. She’s in such good form right now, playing such good tennis, playing so aggressive.
“It’s so tough, we both had really long last matches, six in the third, it’s a tough physical sport. Just wish her all the best.”
Emma Raducanu will face the winner of the match between American Amanda Anisimova, the No 17 seed, and Russian Mirra Andreeva, the No 11 seed, next.
Raducanu won against Japanese wildcard Sayaka Ishii (6-2, 6-1) and edged out American Emma Navarro, the No 8 seed (7-6 (6), 2-6, 7-6 (3)) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, the American edged out Marie Bouzkova (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) and No 30 seed Linda Noskova (2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4)).
