Miami Open: Zheng advances to last 16

Chinese Zheng Qinwen, the No 9 seed, won against American qualifier Taylor Townsend 6-1, 7-6 (3) to advance to the last 16 of the Miami Open at the Hard Rock Stadium on Saturday.
Zheng, ranked No 9, will play American Ashlyn Krueger next.
The 22-year-old Chinese beat American Lauren Davis (6-1, 7-5) in the previous round of the Miami tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Miami tournament, Townsend, ranked No 90, won against Ann Li (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the No 19 seed (7-6 (2), 1-6, 6-1).
