German Tatjana Maria moved into the second round of the Monterrey Open by beating Italian Lucia Bronzetti 6-1, 6-0 at the Estadio GNP Seguros on Tuesday.
Maria, ranked No 73, will face the winner of the match between Spanish lucky loser Marina Bassols Ribera and Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the No 8 seed, next.
